Don't go by the name of this article. I am not going to present you Indian political views about citizenship, neither it's a description of people suffering for lack of democracy in their country.
This is just a small story of our life what we have been experiencing in our life not knowing completely.
Indian government declared in the first day there is no discrimination between citizens of India.
There is no classification of citizens. But is it true!
I'll say the concept of 2nd class citizenship is present in every one's life. What you don't believe me!
Let us get back to 23-24 years back.
Year of 1984. Few children are playing cricket on the ground., ages between 9 to 13. Some one is bowling, some one is batting, some are fielding. Ooo see who is that little kid, he's only about 4 years. He just entered the ground and went to another kid of age 7.
"Dada, dada amay khelay nibi?" (Brother, brother will you take me in the game?)
"na na, tui chhotto ja to bondhuder sathe khel." (know you are kid only, go and play with your Friends) (As if he was already a grown up young man!!)
Mean while some one of this elder kid's friends have come into the picture.
"Let him be in the game, after all we don't have enough fielders, he can field for us. He'll bat 2-3 balls no prob, get him be a part of the game."
The little kid highly impressed about his brother's friend's wise decision. He is so good and allowing him to play with seniors. Wow!!
Alas! That little kid entered the world of 2nd class citizens that time for the first time.
He will have to field for the whole match in exchange of batting for few balls which won't be counted in the match. Wah India Wah! You will have the 2nd class citizens also you'll make them happy!
(Never think that little kid remained a 2nd class citizen for through out the life, the roll changed when there were entries of new 2nd class citizens :) )
Hours go too fast, days go fast, years have gone too but the class remain same.
Everybody knows the laws of conservation of energy, energy cannot be generated, can not be destroyed either, it's only changed from one form to other.
Same kind of law is also applicable for 2nd class citizenship.
That little kid is now a young boy, going to school, mainly for playing on the ground but if there is nothing else to do get involved in something called studying.
One day he realized he is nothing but a 2nd class citizen in the class.
Teachers ask questions in the class, give exams too. In no case his answers are well accepted as answers of top seeded students.
Some time he really wonders, how can this happen? His answer is better than the top seeded one's but it doesn't get appreciated. What could be the reason!
He is nothing but a 2nd class citizen in the class. 2nd class citizens do not have the privilege to get appreciated after answering right.
Who cares, it's so simple to lead the life of a 2nd class citizen. People have less expectation on you cause they think they know you. But when the judge doesn't know who is 1st class citizen and who is 2nd class citizen it's pretty easy to get success.
Who cares if he is a 2nd class citizen or not! After all he is enjoying the life.
On phase of life gets over another starts. Nursery to school, school to college and finally our hero get into the ground to win the hurt of girls.
But is there any 2nd class citizenship here to!
Let us see what happens next!
